A Barnful of Trouble is one of the quests available in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This quest starts automatically, when Geralt enters the small village of Carsten, which is close to the Vegelbud Residence. The peasants are obviously in distress, because of the monsters in the barn.

Geralt may also notice the presence of human remains inside the barn. If he does he concludes that the villagers are not as innocent as they seem and can choose to question them about this. If he does, he receives the promised payment, but considerably fewer .

Journal entry

Near Novigrad Geralt came across a village whose inhabitants had themselves a bit of a ghoul problem. These nasty necrophages had taken up residence in their barn and posed a threat to the living. Geralt agreed to help the peasants – for commensurate pay, of course.

Getting rid of the ghouls did not prove much of a problem for the witcher. A few chops and slices and he was ready to collect his reward.
