- Celandine is known in the books as swallow's herb, or herba zireael in Elder Speech. This is also the meaning in Czech and likely, Polish.

In the real life, "Chelidonium majus" (Greater Celandine) belongs to the poppy family and is indeed known by the name of "swallowwort". "Ficaria verna" (Lesser Celandine) belongs to the family of buttercups. Both are used as medical herbs and are toxic.
- Greater Celandine can find use as painkiller and sedative.
- "Ukrain" is a substance made from Chelidonium majus, it's produced by Nowicky Pharma, Austria. Ukrain is promoted as cancer and virus treatment.
