Endrega queen

A endrega queen is summoned whenever Geralt destroys three endrega cocoons. She drops Greater vitality mutagens as well as pheromones.

Note

• The Queen endrega's pheromones that you can find in the remains are necessary to complete An Encrypted Manuscript quest.
• It can't be so easy to find the endrega cocoons in Flotsam forests since they are not signed on the map. In order to summon the two endrega queens you should destroy all the six cocoons that you can find in two areas: the first group is in the south-west area of the map, near the Nekker's nests; the second group is near the city walls, on the south.
• Killing the queens is insanely difficult at that point of the game. They are very sensible to traps and bombs, so you can both set up more devices all around the area, or casting Yrden to immobilize them and then hit them with strong attacks.
• An Endrega queen often attacks opponents with a charge that you must avoid by dodging. Sometimes she also spits a toxic venom which is even more nasty, since it makes your Vitality drop very fast. Remember that you need to wait until she discloses her defense, before wounding her.
• The Endrega queen moves herself into a certain area. If you manage to escape out of this zone, she will stop chasing you and go back. You can use this trick to recover yourself and your Vigor.
• I found very useful setting almost 10 snares all around and then make the queen follow Geralt. Since a snare can deal 5-10% of damage (at Alchemy skill lvl 1), ten of them can do almost the 75% of damage to the beast, making the battle shorter and easier.
• You can also use bombs against the queens, like Grapeshot, Dragon's Dream or Dancing Star.
