The First Treaty of Lan Exter was a treaty set between Kovir and Poviss on one side, and Redania and Kaedwen on the other. It was established after the war of both of these parties.

Gains for Kovir and Povis
- Mare Liberum Apertum (The sea is free and open) - The main aspect of the inhabitants, of this kingdom, was trade. The Northern Kingdoms are not allowed to interfere with Kovir's trading.
- Kovir is nobody's vassal, it is a free, independent, self-governing and neutral kingdom.
Gains for Kaedwen and Redania
- Radovid III, king of Redania is allowed to use, in official documents, the tittle of king of Kovir and Poviss.
- Benda, king of Kaedwen is allowed to use, in official documents, the tittle of sovereign Caingorn and Malleore.
