The Full Combat Rebalance mod was released on July 8, 2009, and is the biggest modification yet created for The Witcher. The combat system was rebuilt single-handedly by Andrzej "Flash" Kwiatkowski. His aim was to maximize realism (hopefully bringing the game more in line with the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski) while maintaining the highest possible standard of gameplay. Fights are made more brutal, requiring more tactical consideration, and many will find a greater logical consistency in the combat system overall. We warmly encourage you to test the modification on your own – and experience a completely new game!
It is much bigger than Flash Mod (which does alter some combat mechanics but is still very much in the original style). For comparison, Flash Mod consists of 913 files, 17 of which are scripts (game mechanics). FCR consists of 2175 files, 182 of which are scripts. FCR stands for ‘Full Combat Rebalance’, because the combat rules are almost made from scratch.
