Gaspard is one of several dwarves who bought a magic firefly which was said to lead to a hidden treasure from a sea captain they met on the road to Novigrad. The firefly took them to the Isle of Mists, where they remained stranded. When Ciri arrived, they took her in.
He headed for the highest point on the island to try to spot any other signs of life in hope of finding help getting off the island.
He is afflicted with narcolepsy.
