Isabelle Duchamp was an archeology scholar from the Academy of Oxenfurt and evidently a rival of George Herbert. The latter describes her as "that quadroon". She was chosen over Herbert to lead the ill-fated expedition to the Termes Palace Ruins.
She was also apparently intimately involved with a professor from the Imperial Academy, Noel Ivor.
