Detail of the The Witcher map |
Kerack is one of the minor northern kingdoms. It is a small city-state, located between Cidaris to the north, Verden to the south and Brokilon to the east. It is the main setting of Andrzej Sapkowski's novel Season of Storms.
History[]
After monopolizing sea trade in the area, Osmyk declared himself king. This, for the most part, simply formalized the status quo, so there were no major protests. Other than Belohun, Osmyk had four other sons, but all of them renounced the right to the throne of Kerack. Reportedly, one of them even did so willingly.
In the middle of Kerack there is a statue of Osmyk as the "founder" of the city, even though it existed long before he was born.
By the time the Encyclopaedia Maxima Mundi was written, Kerack was part of Cidaris.
National emblems[]
Heraldry[]
First coat of arms were designed based on the description in the Season of Storms novel. For a different take on the coat of arms, we have the Mboro's concept.
Flag[]
First flag is pennon of Kerackish fleet.
