Roegner was the husband of queen Calanthe and father of Pavetta. Born in the province of Ebbing, he became the king of Cintra when he married Queen Calanthe.

In the year 1235, Roegner was hunting in Erlenwald and got lost. Wandering around the pathless tracts, he fell from his horse into a ravine and sprained his legs. He lay at the bottom of the gully and called for help be but was answered only by predators. He was saved by Duny and as a reward, according to the Law of Surprise, promised him "whatever he had left at home without knowing or expecting it".

By the time Duny returned for his reward, the princess Pavetta, 14 years later, Roegner had passed away.
