The Royal huntsman

The Royal huntsman can be found throughout the game. In particular, Geralt first meets him in the Outskirts, then again in the Trade Quarter and finally in a refugee cave in the Swamp Cemetery. The huntsman is the best source of information about particularly well-paying hunting quests, or trophy quests. He pays for trophies brought back as proof of the conquests.

During their first meeting, the huntsman also imparts a little "inside information" to Geralt. Specifically, he mentions the going rate for drowner brains, which it turns out is far from what our witcher has apparently been earning.

Where to find him

Royal huntsman's campsite in the Outskirts

During Act I, he is located at his campsite, east of the farming village on the way to the crossroads near the inn in the Outskirts.

During Act II, the huntsman is presumably still in the Outskirts, so Vincent Meis, captain of the City Guard fulfills this function.

During Act III, he's sitting at the table in the Trade Quarter, next to the gate to the Vizima cemetery, which is down the street from the Guardhouse, overlooking the square outside The New Narakort.

During Act IV, the huntsman is presumably still in the Trade Quarter, so Tobias Hoffman, the Murky Waters village chief, fulfills this function.

During Act V, he can be found just inside the Druids' cave in the Swamp Cemetery.
