Saint Elmo, of Elmo the Helper is a character mentioned in Cheerful, innocent and heartless, a short story from the Tales from the world of The Witcher. He seems to be highly esteemed by sailors; St. Elmo's lights, also mentioned in the short story, are probably named after him.

Erasmus of Formia, known as St. Elmo, is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers in Christian tradition, patron of sailors and abdominal pain.
