Scoia'tael Gwent deck

The Scoia'tael Gwent deck must be built from scratch by acquiring cards.

Overview

The Scoia'Tael is an interesting, flexible deck that requires a good deal of finesse to play correctly. Where the Empire and the North are fairly straightforward and the Monsters are pure brute force, the Elder Races focus on combining a moderately strong assortment of units with debuffs that affect the enemy units: The Weather cards. Units with Agility can be deployed in either the Close or Ranged combat rows, giving you tactical flexibility: Field a debuff against a strong enemy unit set, then counter with your own units in unaffected rows.

Another advantage of the deck is that you get to choose who plays first. While the AI usually chooses to be the first to play its cards, it's usually more advantageous to let the opponent play when you act. The first-move advantage doesn't exist in Gwent - if the opponent plays first, you can instantly adapt your long-term strategy instead of having to wade in blindly. It also leaves the opponent short one card from the beginning.
