Soothsayer (or an oracle) is a person who claims to be able to foretell events or predict the future via contacts with gods or other divine or spiritual entities. Those include clairvoyants, prophets, oracles, diviners, sages and the rest. Soothsayers are usually considered to be "unnoficial" folk spiritual leaders, for "official" clergy see Priests.
