Why is the fact, that Alvin and the Grand Master exist in Act II an contra argument to the Alvin = Grand Master theory? If we assume that time travel is possible than to that point there have to be two entities of Alvin. For example "Back to Future"

That argument was there when i got here :) -- if you'd like to expound on it, please do, but i'll see what i can do to clean up that section Game widow 22:43, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Just want to point out, if the Grand Master is Alvin, then they are involved in some degree of causality loop. At the very least, the Grand Master is greatly influencing his younger self by pursuing him with Salamandra, causing him to spend time with Geralt and Triss/Shani, etc, and possibly Alvin's time travel could directly be the result of the actions of his older self (if we assume he travels through time when he leaves Murky Waters). — 71.48.14.124 17:38, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Interesting thought, definintely — Game widow 21:13, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
The mixing of time-travel and destiny/fate themes raises the question as to whether or not the two concepts can co-exist. Definitely makes the game interesting beyond its surface. 71.239.75.66 04:17, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

The only argument against is that Alvin is blonde, while Grand Master is not. =) 94.140.209.198 12:24, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Lots of people start off their lives with light coloured hair and end up with dark hair. I was blonde as a kid and now have dark brown hair, so that's not an argument at all. — Game widow 14:23, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
I was also blond when I was a kid, and now I have dark brown just as game widow. 78.69.122.16 14:00, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

Alvin as the Grandmaster[]

Well, it appears that the developers has just confirmed that alvin travel back in time an became Jacques de Aldersberg. In a question in their facebook page they say "What happens to Alvin after 4th Chapter of the original Witcher game?" A reader answers "he disappears and become Jakub de Aldersberg I guess", wich was the correct answer, according to them.

in case Quotes are added at some point,[]

i nominate "Abigail is kind, but her tea is awful." hoping it is an accurate translation...
