- Nice write-up! I just finished Act IV and came looking for a more hints after finding this quest a little confusing. :) And your writeup made a few things clearer. Earlier, I'd saved Abigail and not told Julian that Adam killed Celina which I must remember to check the other option for sometime.
- Asking the Hermit the "What can the Wreath of Immortelles do?" question after you complete The Heat of the Day his answer changes from the old "You might find it useful" to "It has the power to dispel curses that hold Nightwraiths." I haven't checked yet exactly when in the quest line that answer changes over, since the first time I found the Hermit I hadn't yet been sent to find Alina.
- I completed the quest for the Hermit before I started The Heat of the Day this time. His answer to what can it do starts out, "You might find it useful." After Geralt has given the wreath to Celina/Nightwraith and the quest says he should see Julian, the Hermit's answer is, "It has the power to dispel curses that hold Nightwraiths." Sometime, I'll have to try holding off on collecting the reward from the Hermit until after the Nightwraith and the Midday Bride meet, just to see what the Hermit says about the Wreath then.

- The whole thing with that Wreath_of_Immortelles, Celina and setting her free seem like remnants of a quest(s) they later decided not to include. Perhaps since you have the option of never taking the wreath in the first place, it would've left you with a quest you can't finish. Seems like they could've added another way for you to get the wreath from the Hermit later on, but I imagine development schedules for games like this can force you to cut corners. Oh well.
- Also, regarding Ripples I noticed that The Lady of the Lake (nymph) suddenly has the "Do you approve?" question when I arrive on the island with her gifts, before killing Dagon. The discussion with this question isn't about the gifts, rather she responds about releasing a troubled soul (presumably Celina) and Alina, saying nothing about the conflict between the villagers and the Vodyanoi. And the quest journal has phases about the reward sword in The Paths of Destiny and Alvin (quest) quests, while killing Dagon is in the Ripples phases but no mention of the sword. So perhaps the Lady's approval stuff has more to do with a questline or link between the two quests that they abandoned for the final release, too. And then there's talking to the Fisher King upon coming back to Lakeside ... though that could be more like just a little Easter egg. They probably just didn't have time to make "Sir Bonehead's Sword" and decided you should have Aerondight no matter what. Licensed Luny 10:55, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- or possibly Sir Bonehead doesn't deserve a sword ;), but all very good points indeed, gonna have to think about how to work them in, or you can if you like ... Game widow 11:36, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I'm not sure how this ties in, but my game did have the phase glitch in the Berengar's Secret quest and I just now realized it when reviewing the Act IV notes here. (Don't get me wrong, I'm really liking this game, but WOW can you get confused and miss important stuff easily) So I went back to my last Act IV save and went to deal with him. The fact that you kill Berengar and it updates not only Berengar's Secret but The Paths of Destiny quest, too, (which got a phase entry about Aerondight earlier,) leads me to further suspect these are remnants of an abandoned Act IV quest. Also, I can't recall quite when, but Geralt had some discussion with the Lady where she mentioned seeing a witcher's future but not knowing if it was Geralt or Berengar. Don't quote me, but I think it happened when Geralt asked why she looked pensive. Something like an optional quest where if the Lady of the Lake (nymph) likes all the choices you made in the whole act, then you get the badass monster-killing sword. I get dizzy just thinking about the flowchart the developers were working with. Licensed Luny 16:29, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- I moved the last part to the Act IV section of the Storyline discussion page Game widow 20:09, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
I came here looking for clarification about the Celina thing.. I got the "do you approve" question after killing Dagon but before finishing the Heat of the Day quest.. I didn't get the sword yet..
Now I have finished the quest, and talked to Julian. I went back to the island and the Lady had a new option "M'lady, it seems I'm needed in Murky Waters", or similar. This got me the sword, and as I approached the boat, I met Berengar.....

After the heat of the day Julian gave me another few lines. After Geralt asked if anyone asked for him, Julian responds that the Fisher King did. And the Alvin quest moved to The Fisher KingMytharox 16:23, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
More Inn keeper dialogue[]
If you ask the Inn keeper about "Any Interesting News" after completing the quest, he will respond "Everyone's impressed with how you sent Alina's soul to the great beyond."
Anonymous question[]
After Adam and Alina leave, it's possible to run into Celina in the Fields. She'll be a nightwraith. I've heard people say that they were able to give her the Wreath of Immortelles to cure her, but as of v1.3, when I encountered her, she talked to me and then attacked me, and I never got an option to give her anything. Please let me know if this was fixed in the Enhanced Edition.
- I've never had the option to give her the wreath at any other time except during right after the meeting with Alina. — Game widow (talk) 11:22, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
I think that something should be added to The Heat of the Day wiki page to say that people need to do this quest before they finish that one otherwise they wont be able to use the Wreath of Immortelles on Celina--Yukimoda 06:12, May 5, 2012 (UTC)
