Vizimir II the Just, king of Redania, was the son Heribert the Quarrelsome and Diana de Saint-Villiers. After his death at the end of an elven assassin's blade, he was succeeded by the Regency Council, headed by Sigismund Dijkstra and Philippa Eilhart.
Vizimir was married to Hedwig of Malleore, with whom he had three children: son Radovid and daughters Dalimira (called Dalka) and Milena (called Milka).
He wished to join the royal families of Redania and Temeria, and thus offered his daughter Dalimira to Foltest. The young king of Temeria refused, though, and the relations between the two kingdoms grew cold.
The sorceress Philippa Eilhart was an advisor in Vizimir's court, and not only held her position but also bolstered it in the years following Vizimir's demise.
Notes[ | ]
In Michael Kandel's translation of The Witcher (for the A Book of Polish Monsters anthology), Vizimir was known both as Cuthbond and Glothur.
