This page is used to discuss issues relating to the Witcher community as a whole.

Greetings to all the Witcher admins!

Curse is starting some new initiatives for all of our wiki communities. Some things that you can look forward to are contests and giveaways for editors, as well as more rewards for our committed admin teams!

Along with these rewards we are also setting up better lines of communications between Curse and the admin teams, which will include periodic newsletters to let you know what is happening, not only on Witcher Wiki, but across the Gamepedia network.

To be included in these reward programs, and our communications, we need to make sure we have current contact information, email addresses, as well as snail mail addresses (so we can send you the cool swag). So... Any of you wishing to participate, please email me with your info (if you have provided this previously and nothing's changed, please disregard), and I will get our list updated. I PROMISE we will never share or sell this information, and you can opt out at any time.

You guys rock! I know we don't say it enough, but we think it every day. I can't imagine what the Gamepedia Network would be like without ALL of you and your hard work and dedication to making our wikis some of the best on the internet!

Testing out a new light skin

For those of you who dislike dark skins, i've made a light themed alternative for this wiki. To check it out, go to Special:Preferences, then choose the "Appearance" tab and click on the radio button next to "Hydra". Bright red UI elements on white background look very accented, which is not optimal. — Gilrond ^(talk) 03:22, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

Changed the skin and looked around the place. Don't see anything obvious, so great job. The only minor nitpick is that the text for image metadata is light on light background (the little box we can expand). I also do wonder if perhaps the background image of Geralt could be a bit lighter. To my eyes at least, it's a little awkward to read the links in the sidebar when on the bottom-ish of the page (darker background). Perhaps it would be a little less straining to read articles if Geralt blended more into the background. It's okay to my eyes really, but I've heard it can be an issue with poor eye sight. Otherwise it looks really good, although I still prefer dark designs (here and elsewhere). Oh, one small thing I just noticed, the link text on the drop-down menu in the "More" button (bar above main article area) could use a bit more contrast. — Pangaearocks ^(talk) 15:14, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

As long as I'm being picky, I noticed a small issue on the dark skin a while back that I was reminded of now, in the Special:ApiSandbox. The hover text in the menus is virtually unreadable because it becomes light text on light background. It's only the hover item itself, though, the rest of the menu looks fine. Don't know if that behaviour/selector is used elsewhere. — Pangaearocks ^(talk) 15:41, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Afraid I probably can't help much in that case. I spent a lot of time trying to get these pages (and the new RC page) sorted for another wiki (tried to change the design from light to dark, wholesale), and basically gave up halfway there. Soooo many selectors... It's not a big deal anyway. Probably nigh on anybody use that page, and if people do, they'll be able to figure out what is what by moving the mouse slightly. — Pangaearocks ^(talk) 17:17, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Firstly, if you want to change from a dark theme to a light theme completely on a wiki, you need the wiki manager to make some configuration changes — Game widow ^{( talk )} 17:52, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

One of our more experienced wiki managers will be looking at the default dark styling for the Special:ApiSandbox and see about improving it. This won't happen overnight, but hopefully my month's end — Game widow ^{( talk )} 20:46, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
